Objective: 

Our client had an idea to create a versatile web video editor that would act as a simple and convenient tool for thousands of content creators making videos for social media and other platforms. 

Our objective was to conceptualize and develop a versatile web-based video editor that simplifies the content creation process for numerous social media and multi-platform video creators. By functioning seamlessly within web browsers, this innovative tool eliminates the need for downloads or prior editing expertise, catering to a wide-ranging audience.

Challenge: 

Even with it being ingeniously simple, the editor still required quite a bit of work to make it run as smoothly as possible.  

We had to develop a solution with all the features required to create great videos, such as editing the different sizes, adding blur, watermarks, timeline text etc. There’re also features that allow you to connect several videos into one, add on effects, and manage soundtracks. 

All these manipulations can be done on the Client Render (all editing is done on the user’s machine), or with Server Render (when all the work is done on the Server). The last option has the benefit of editing large files without worrying about your memory capacity.  

This all-in-one solution lets you make your own video completely from scratch all on one screen!  

Solution: 

One of the difficulties of this project was to figure out how to make rendering on the client side. For this purpose, we used one of the latest technologies Web Assembly FFMPEG. Based on this library we made a web module which connects to Chrome and through it executes all the commands.
