Objective: 

FIVE's Client, San Francisco-based company was looking for a team of engineers to create both iOS and Android applications as well as a server-side solution that would give users the ability to select from various sources when they decide to watch a movie or TV show online, in particular, to choose from favorites, cheapest or available at the moment sources. 

Also, the app had to remember each user’s actions and, based on this, use neural networks and internal algorithms to provide the user with suggestions about the TV content.  

In addition, the Client wanted FIVE to develop the feature for an application to detect the location of the user and then broadcast the video content relevant or the most popular in their region. 

FIVE’s portfolio and relevant working experience impressed the Client and they’ve made a decision to stick with us as a Vendor Company to develop the solution. 

Challenge: 

From the Client’s side, FIVE faced challenges such as: 

• Preparing the design and architecture for the server-side solution 

• Designing mobile clients for Android and iOS, both UI and their internal functionality 

• Meeting the aggressive timelines, as the initial version had to be in the stores in a few months from the project kick-off date 

Solution: 

FIVE’s solution consisted of the following steps: 

• Building an Agile team that holds a full set of technologies and skills to implement server-side and mobile clients 

• Selecting proper technologies to be able to do fast development and meet the Client’s timelines 

• Implementing the delivery cycle in a way that the Client could release the new apps to mobile stores every two weeks 

• Promoting the Client’s application in the stores.
